About Me

I am medievalist who works at the intersection of theology and history. My work examines the interdependent relationship between medieval Christian theological thought and the lived devotional and social practices in both monastic and lay contexts. I especially consider the shaping forces of liturgical practice, art, and material culture, utilizing background in manuscript studies (paleography and codicology), art history, and ritual studies. My broader research interests include gender studies and feminist theology, Christian mysticism, the cult of saints, and the body and theology.

When I'm not contemplating the medieval world or monastic manuscripts, I enjoy doing yoga, baking, spending time at the nearest body of water, and drinking coffee or cocktails with friends.
